MY HUSBAND BURNS MY ONLY GOOD CLOTHES SO I CAN’T GO TO HIS PROMOTION PARTY

MY HUSBAND BURNS MY ONLY GOOD CLOTHES SO THAT I CAN’T GO TO HIS PROMOTION PARTY. HE CALLS ME « SHAMEFUL » AND « FUCKING ». HE THOUGHT I WOULD GO HOME CRYING… BUT WHEN THE DOORS OF THE GRAND BALLROOM OPENED, I APPEARED IN A WAY THAT CONTINUED TO RUIN HIS PRIDE AND HIS WHOLE WORLD.

The Smoke in the Backyard

Troy and I were married for five years. During those five years, I was the one who supported him. I worked two part-time jobs, sold things on the street, and deprived myself of luxuries just so he could pass his board exams and get into Consunji Global , a multi-billion dollar multinational company.

Tonight is a huge occasion. The company is celebrating Troy’s promotion to the new Vice President of Operations. I saved up for three months to buy a simple yellow dress for her to wear to this event. I’m excited to make my husband proud of everyone.

But an hour before we left, I smelled smoke coming from our backyard.

I was nervous. I ran out of the kitchen. There, I saw Troy, already dressed in his expensive tuxedo, standing in front of our old grill. He was holding a bottle of lighter fluid, and over the burning coals, he was burning my yellow dress!

“Troy?! What are you doing?!” I screamed, trying to reach for my burning clothes, but he pushed me away hard.

“Don’t save that, Elena,” Troy said coldly and emotionlessly. “You’re like that too, like trash.”

“W-Why did you burn my clothes?! How can I come with you?!” I asked crying, unable to believe what he had done.

He looked at me from head to toe with intense disgust. “I burned you so I couldn’t be with you. Look at yourself, Elena. You smell like onions, your hands are rough, and you look like a maid! I’m Vice President now! My guests later will be CEOs, billionaires, and the children of politicians. You’re embarrassing. You’re a disgrace to my image.”

« Troy… I worked hard to get to your current position! I was the one who kept you alive when you didn’t have anything to eat! » I scolded, sobbing.

“Indebted? I pay you an allowance every month, don’t I?” he replied with a smile. He turned to me, adjusting his expensive watch. “You just stay at home. Wash the dishes. I invited another partner for the party—Vanessa, the daughter of one of the Board of Directors. She’s the one I’ll be with tonight. Don’t even try to go there, Elena, or I’ll drag you to the guards.”

He turned his back on me, got into his car, and drove away. I was left kneeling on the grass, crying as I watched my simple dress turn to ashes.

The Queen’s Awakening

But my tears didn’t last long. As I watched the smoke, my self-pity died and was replaced by a cold, deadly rage.

Troy thought I was just a lowly housewife. He thought he had the world in his hands. What he didn’t know was that the Consunji Global he was so proud of was owned by my family.

I am Elena Ysabel Consunji. The sole heiress and secret Supreme Chairwoman of the company she works for. I gave up my luxurious life and pretended to be a simple woman five years ago because I wanted to experience true love. I pretended to be suffering to help her, to see if she would love me unconditionally.

But he proved that he was just a greedy, arrogant, and snake.

I stood up. I wiped my tears. I took my cellphone from my pocket and dialed a private, encrypted number.

“Mr. Lorenzo,” I called to my Chief Executive Assistant.

“Madame Chairwoman,” he replied quickly and politely. “Are you ready to attend the gala later today for your formal introduction to the company?”

“Yes,” I replied coldly. “Send my glam team here right now. Get my custom gold Parisian gown, the private helicopter, and the 100-million peso diamond set from the vault ready. I want to enter that party like a queen who will raise hell.”

The Party and the Profanity

Inside the Grand Monarch Hotel , the entire ballroom was overflowing with luxury. Troy was the center of attention, champagne in hand, and anchored on Vanessa’s arm. He was proud of his new position among the guests.

“Congratulations, Troy! I hear the mysterious Chairwoman of the company is attending today,” an executive greeted. “I hope you impress her!”

“Of course,” Troy replied proudly. “I’m their best VP. And who wouldn’t be impressed by Vanessa and I? We are the perfect power couple.”

« It’s a shame, babe, your starving husband might be crying at home right now, » Vanessa laughed mischievously.

« Let him go. He’s trash, we’re the royalty here, » Troy replied with a smile.

They had no idea that they were talking about the same woman Troy had sold clothes to just a few hours ago.

The orchestra’s music suddenly stopped. The surrounding lights went out, and only the large spotlight focused on the grand entrance of the ballroom. Mr. Lorenzo climbed onto the stage.

My husband burned the only beautiful dress I had so I wouldn’t be able to attend his promotion gala. Then he looked at me with contempt and called me “an embarrassment.”
