“He changed the passwords to our banking accounts.”
She swallowed.
“And he hid my car keys.”
I slowly turned toward Daniel.
“You just made this much bigger than a bad marriage.”
For the first time, his smile disappeared.
Then something happened neither Daniel nor Patricia realized.
My phone was still recording from the dining table.
And it captured Patricia saying quietly,
“Don’t worry, Daniel. By Friday, the house will finally belong to us.”

Daniel had shoved her before too.

Whenever Emily threatened to tell someone, he reminded her that he was a respected sales director.

I saved the kitchen recording in three different places.
